The Butterfly Tattoo

Aquesta setmana està tenint lloc a Utrecht el Nederlands Filmfestival.
Acabo d'arribar del cine, on primer teniem pensat anar a veure The last days of Shishmaref (Jan Louter) però com que ja estaven totes les entrades venudes doncs ens hem comformat amb The Butterfly Tattoo.
Quan hem entrat tothom vestia elegant, quasi que semblava una boda! i nosaltres amb els texans i el xandal, ole, ole! I perquè tothom anava així? doncs perquè era l'estrena de la peli! (i també perquè als Holandesos, especialment els Utrequenses (toma ya amb el nom) els hi mola aquest rollo del, com jo li dic, "pretend to". Són molt fancy ells). A banda d'això, a Holanda, encara que s'està perdent la tradició en els macrocines, hi ha la costum de que et fagin una mini presentació sobre la pel·lícula abans de començar-la. Aquest cop, hem tingut una presentació especial: hi han intervingut els productors, el director (Phil Hawkins) i dos actors, entre ells la protagonsita. La història de la pel·lícula és ben curiosa. Es veu que tres estudiants holandesos van llegir el llibre, de Philip Pullman, i li van comprar els drets per fer-ne una peli, ja que van pensar que se'n podia fer alguna cosa profitosa. Llavors van trucar al director i aquest va accedir. Els actors, ni ningú, ha cobrat res, dels guanys que en treguin en faran el seu sou.

Sobre la pel·lícula: per l'orígen que té, amb gent nova i jove i pressupost baxíssim, està molt bé. M'ha sorprès. Els actors ho fan tots molt bé. Els plànols a vegades massa propers (em sé cada porus, varp i gra dels protagonistes). I la banda sonora també m'ha agradat molt. Ara, si vingués de Hollywood doncs seria una peli normaleta.
Però estic contenta que un projecte que en principi sembla una utopía o una flipada de 3 joves doncs hagi funcionat. Crec que la gent ha sortit contenta del cine. Fins i tot he felicitat al director i l'actriu! Això no es pot fer cada dia ;).

This week is taking place in Utrecht the Nederlands Filmfestival.
I just came back from the cinema, where we were suposed to watch The last days of Shishmaref (Jan Louter) but as it was full we changed to The Butterfly Tattoo.
When we came into the cinema everybody was wearing like if it was a wedding! and we were with jeans and jogging jackets, ole, ole! But why were people wearing nice? cos it was prèmiere of the movie! (and also cos Dutchies, especially Utrecht people, like wearing like this. As I say, like "pretending to"). Apart from that, in Holland, although in big cinemas it's getting lost, they usually give a kind of small presentation about the movie. This time we had a especial presentation cos there were the producers, the director (Phil Hawkins) i and two actors, among them the main character. The story of the movie is curious. Three Dutch students read the book, of Philip Pullman, and they bought him the rights since they thought something could be done with it. Then they called the director and he said yes! The actors, and no one actually, got paid yet. They will get their salary from the profits of the movie.

About the movie: for its origins, young and new people, with almost no money to invest, it's a good movie. I was surprised. The actors did a good job. Sometimes the images were recorded too near the actors (I know each of their pores and spots). The soundtrack was also good. But, if it was a Hollywood movie it would be a normal one, nothing especial.
I'm happy that a project with young people and that can seem an utopy of those 3 Dutch guys has worked out well. I think people enjoyed it. Even I said congrats to the director and the actress! You can not do that everyday ;).
